Drop in emissions!

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

According to Environment Canada, greenhouse gas emissions in British Columbia decreased by 2.4% or a drop of 1.4 million tones of emissions in 2005.  As the article went on to explain, fluctuations in emissions are common place in the B.C. economy and have been observed on a couple of occasions over the past decade.  What is interesting about this recent decrease is that it occurred while the provincial economy was experiencing a growth rate.  Either way one looks at it this does provide some comforting news.
