In a move to repackage an existing energy-efficiency retrofit program previously created under the Liberal government, the current Conservative government may face lawsuits due to the measures of scraping the program and re-launching it under a new name ecoEnergy Retrofit program. Legal action could arise due to the nature of the now scraped program which provided subsidies for a contractor to perform a house inspection to assess renovations for a homeowner to improve their home’s energy-efficiency. I recall hearing about this program close to a year ago as being on of the few positive climate-change prevention programs providing real results.
