Arctic to-do list…

The Toronto Star’s Arctic in Peril lead contributor — Ed Struzik, discusses a slew of initiatives that the Canadian government should fulfill as means to enhance Canada’s management practices of Arctic affairs.  Mr.Struzik’s list is detailed and lengthy — providing a good snapshot as to both what is required and shortfalls the Canadian government should realize.  Issue that stand out include: two new research/icebreakers for the Canadian Coast Guard, implement 24 Northern research chairs at Canadian universities and create national network of permafrost monitoring stations.
