Inked on Thursday, February 21, the federal government made an official agreement with the Northwest Territories to provide $245 million in infrastructure funding over the next seven years. Similar in nature to the recent $242 million infrastructure agreement between the feds and the territory of Nunavut, funding will largely be directed towards critical components to help develop the north i.e., bridges, airports, water systems, etc. Federal funding is partially provided through its Building Canada long-term infrastructure plan and federal gas tax revenue.
