Did you know…
Arctic Cordillera
Spanning more than 1,000 km from Ellesmere Island (Canada’s most northern landmass) to the northern coastline of Labrador resides one of Canada’s major mountain ranges — the Arctic Cordillera. Situated in the eastern portion of the Canadian Arctic, the Arctic Cordillera is home to massive ice caps, ice sheets, glaciers, fjords and mountain peaks rising more than 2,600 meters. Barbeau Peak (2,616 meters) located on Ellesmere Island is the highest point in both the Canadian Arctic and eastern North America.
