On Thursday, rookie Conservative MP Leona Aglukkaq who represents the Nunavut riding became the first Inuit to become a federal cabinet minister.  Unveiling his new cabinet, Prime Minister Harper placed the Nunavut MP in the high-profile Health portfolio (replacing Tony Clement who is now Industry Minister).  Ms. Aglukkaq previously held the Minister of Health portfolio as an MLA in the Nunavut legislature.
